Air tools are powered by compressed air. Common types of these air-powered hand tools that are used in industry include buffers, drills, jack hammers, nailing and stapling guns, riveting guns, grinders, chipping hammers, sanders and wrenches.
Air tools are simple to use and save time. Painting, grinding, sandblasting , and many more industrial procedures often rely on compressed air power. When using air tools it is a good idea to have a plan of attack for your stone and mark cut and shave lines on the stone.
How air tools (pneumatic tools) works
Pneumatic tools are designed around three basic devices: the air cylinder, the vane motor, and the sprayer. The air cylinder contains a piston that is pushed the length of the cylinder by compressed air and returned by air or by a spring. Pneumatic equipment has also become part of automated systems. While a crank or ratchet wrench can provide an oscillating or rotating motion, an air tool is much more suitable for those high-speed rotor applications.
